About the surgery

Davidsons Mains Medical Centre was founded by Dr Rycroft on 19 December 1983, with approximately 1200 patients.  It was then situated at 84 Main Street, Davidsons Mains.  Since that time the list size has steadily grown and is now over 6000 patients.  We moved into purpose built premises in Quality Street on 3 August 1992.

Practice Area & Population

The Medical Centre is located on the corner of Queensferry Road and Quality Street in North West Edinburgh.  Davidsons Mains itself retains a village atmosphere with a variety of local shops despite being well within the city boundaries and only minutes from the city centre, with a wide variety of theatres, restaurants and shops.

Our practice boundary covers mainly the EH4 area. Please click here to view our boundary map.  We currently have a list of approximately 5700 patients. This is increasing steadily and likely to expand even more rapidly over the next few years with the construction of several more housing developments locally.
